There are some upcoming events for Windows Mobile 6.5 OS and the Marketplace for Mobile and Microsoft is making efforts to reach out to developers and to inspire and spark innovation in the mobile developer community with WinMoDevCamp. This is a free series of Barcamp-type events around the world, to help bring the news to the developers and give them a first-hand look and information about forthcoming product releases.
My personal view is: Microsoft’s strategy is interesting when viewed from a holistic perspective i.e. Cloud computing which unified the Web (especially Enterprise) and mobility.
The first WinMoDevCamp will be held at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond, WA in the day followed by Windows Mobile: Cocktails and Apps in Seattle that evening. Future dates for events in Austin, London, New York, San Francisco, and Singapore will be announced in the near future.
Also, there is a “Race to Market Challenge” which gives mobile developers have the opportunity to get in on the ground floor on something pretty cool with the help of Microsoft to market their apps and even have an opportunity to win a variety of prizes.
